I did the XTERRA SPRINT TRIATHLON on Sunday, March 30, 2008 with my husband, Tim. It was so cool.

I finished 7th out of 15 women and 3rd in my age group. There was a total of 86 people who finished the race. I was 67 th overall. There were about 5 women who didn't even finish the race. I ACTUALLY GOT A MEDAL!

Tim also did very well. He placed 7th in his age group and 38 out of 76 males.

I have to admit, it was pretty brutal. I got a little banged up on the bike part but overall it was a good race. There were some really cool water crossings on the run. It took me 2 hours and 22 minutes and Tim finished in 2 hours and 5 minutes.

I love racing!

In the beginning...

My intention for creating this blog is to allow everyone to "join" my sister and I on this incredible journey! I feel so honored to be a part of the LIVESTRONG team and so blessed to be up to the physical challenge that lies ahead. If someone had told me two years ago, as I was receiving chemotherapy treatments, that I would be riding a bike across the state of Iowa with Lance Armstrong one day, I'm sure you can imagine my response!

As most of you know, and for those of you who don't, I have once before documented a journey of mine in hopes of helping others. I did so in a book called JUST a LUMP IN THE ROAD... Reflections of young breast cancer survivors. It was written by five other breast cancer survivors that I met in a support group. You can read about us at http://www.alumpintheroad.com/. The overwhelming positive response that we have received is hard to describe in words. I hope that my words in this blog will again inspire, empower and uplift someone during a difficult time.

Thank you all again, for your support... it means so much.
